- Hintergrund
- MVD, also known as diphosphomevalonate decarboxylase, catalyzes the conversion of mevalonate pyrophosphate into isopentenyl pyrophosphate in one of the early steps in cholesterol biosynthesis. It decarboxylates and dehydrates its substrate while hydrolyzing ATP. Recombinant human MVD protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography. Synonyms: diphosphomevalonate decarboxylase, MPD.
