- Hintergrund
- The cytokine Macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) has been identified to be secreted by the pituitary gland and the monocyte/macrophage and to play an important role in endotoxic shock. MIF has the unique property of being released from macrophages and T cells in response to physiological concentrations of glucocorticoids. The secretion of MIF is tightly regulated and decreases at high, anti-inflammatory steroid concentration. Recombinant human MIF, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was cloned into an E. coli expression vector and was purified to apparent homogeneity by using conventional column chromatography techniques. Synonyms: Macrophage migration inhibitory factor, GLIF, MMIF, MIF (1-114aa) , MIF, EC 5.3.2.1, Phenylpyruvate tautomerase, Glycosylation-inhibiting factor, GIF, Macrophage migration inhibitory factor Glycosylation inhibiting factor, MIF protein,.
