Produktmerkmale
The peptide corresponding to amino acids 2791-2911 that contains the bromodomain sequences of BPTF / FALZ (accession number NP_872579.2) was expressed in E. coli and contains an N-terminal His tag and C-terminal FLAG tag with an observed molecular weight of 20.3 kDa.
Bromodomain PHD finger transcription factor (BPTF), also known as Fetal Alzheimer antigen (FALZ), is a histone-binding component of NuRF (nucleosome-remodeling factor), a complex which catalyzes ATP-dependent nucleosome sliding and facilitates transcription of chromatin. BPTF protein contains a DNA-binding domain, a zinc finger motif and a bromodomain. Bromodomains recognize acetylated histone lysine residues and function as 'readers' of these epigenetic histone marks to regulate chromatin structure and gene expression by linking associated proteins to the acetylated nucleosomal targets. BPTF also specifically recognizes H3 tails trimethylated on lysine 4 (H3K4me3), which mark transcription start sites of virtually all active genes. It may also regulate transcription through direct binding to DNA or transcription factors.
