  1. Thus, gamma-7 is capable of supporting a component of excitatory transmission in PCs, sufficient to maintain essentially normal motor behavior, in the absence of gamma-2.

  2. The results of this study suggested that TARPed synaptic receptors in granule cells require both gamma-2 and gamma-7 and reveal an unexpected basis for the loss of AMPAR-mediated transmission in stargazer mice.

  3. Results suggest that TARPs gamma-2 and gamma-7 cooperatively promote synaptic expression of cerebellar AMPA receptors, and the latter also promotes glial expression.

  4. TARP gamma-7 causes AMPA receptors to "resensitize" upon continued glutamate application.

  5. Gamma-7 is a new member of the transmembrane AMPA receptor regulatory protein (TARP) family that can differentially influence AMPA receptors in cerebellar neurons. (TARP gamma-7)

CACNG7 Protein Überblick

Protein Überblick

The protein encoded by this gene is a type II transmembrane AMPA receptor regulatory protein (TARP). TARPs regulate both trafficking and channel gating of the AMPA receptors. This gene is part of a functionally diverse eight-member protein subfamily of the PMP-22/EMP/MP20 family and is located in a cluster with two family members, a type I TARP and a calcium channel gamma subunit.
