ASB15 gene, consisting of 12 exons, was identified by using bio-informatics.
The apparent occurrence of an unusual TG 3' splice site in intron 9 is critically discussed.
Results suggest ASB15 participates in the regulation of protein turnover and muscle cell development by stimulating protein synthesis and regulating differentiation of muscle cells.
ASB15 has a role in early myoblast differentiation and that its effects may be mediated in part by the PI3K/Akt signal transduction pathway
May be a substrate-recognition component of a SCF-like ECS (Elongin-Cullin-SOCS-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex which mediates the ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation of target proteins (By similarity).
