Hintergrund
AXL(Tyrosine-protein kinase receptor UFO) may function as a signal transducer between specific cell types of mesodermal origin. In case of filovirus infection, AXL seems to function as a cell entry factor. AXL is heterodimer and heterotetramer with GAS6. AXL is a single-pass type I membrane protein. It is highly expressed in metastatic colon tumors. And weakly expressed in normal colon tissue. AXL belongs to the protein kinase superfamily and Tyr protein kinase family and AXL/UFO subfamily. AXL contains 1 protein kinase domain. Synonyms: UFO
