Beschreibung: ACAT1 is a homotetrameric enzyme that catalyzes the formation of cholesterol esters from cholesterol and long-chain fatty acyl coenzyme A. The gene encoding human ACAT1 maps to chromosome 1 and is expressed as a protein of 50 kDa that localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) in macrophages and in several tissues, including those of the liver, the adrenal glands, and kidneys. ACAT1 is involved in cellular cholesterol homeostasis as well as in foam cell formation and the subsequent progression of atherosclerosis.

Lagerung: The antibody remains stable for one year from the date of shipment if stored at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. The aliquots will remain stable for three months if stored at 4°C.
