Beschreibung Calcitonin is a 32-amino acid polypeptide hormone that is produced in human primarily bythe parafollicular (also known as C-cells) of the thyroid, and in many other animals in theultimobranchial body It acts to reduce blood calcium (Ca2+), opposing the effects ofparathyroid hormone (PTH) Calcitonin staining can detect C cell proliferative abnormalitiesranging from C cell hyperplasia to invasive tumors.

Applikationshinweise Immunohistochemistry: 1/50-1/200 using polymer or streptavidin biotin system for 30minutes at room temperature. Positive control: Human thyroid or medulary carcinoma. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
