Beschreibung FUNCTION: Functions as a highly sensitive Ca2+ sensor in the endoplasmic reticulum which activates both store-operated and store-independent Ca2+-influx. Regulates basal cytosolic and endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ concentrations. Upon mild variations of the endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ concentration, translocates from the endoplasmic reticulum to the plasma membrane where it probably activates the Ca2+ release-activated Ca2+ (CRAC) channels ORAI1, ORAI2 and ORAI3. May inhibit STIM1-mediated Ca2+ influx. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein, Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Single-pass type I membrane. Note: Translocates from the endoplasmic reticulum to punctual endoplasmic reticulum-cell plasma membrane junctions in response to decrease in endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ concentration. Tissue specificity: Expressed in all tissues and tumor cell lines examined. Also known as: STIM2.

Anwendungen

Applikationshinweise IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not tested in other applications.

Lagerung Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
