Immunogen: A synthetic peptide from of human RAC1, RAC2 (Ras-like protein TC25, p21-Rac2) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The antigen is homologous in rat, mouse, guinea pig, bovine, xenopus, dog, zebrafish and chicken.

Beschreibung: FUNCTION: Plasma membrane-associated small GTPase which cycles between active GTP-bound and inactive GDP-bound states. In its active state, binds to a variety of effector proteins to regulate cellular responses such as secretory processes, phagocytosis of apoptotic cells, epithelial cell polarization and growth-factor induced formation of membrane ruffles. ENZYME REGULATION: Regulated by guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) which promote the exchange of bound GDP for free GTP, GTPase activating proteins (GAPs) which increase the GTP hydrolysis activity, and GDP dissociation inhibitors which inhibit the dissociation of the nucleotide from the GTPase. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane; Lipid-anchor; Cytoplasmic side. Melanosome. Note: Inner surface of plasma membrane possibly with attachment requiring prenylation of the C-terminal cysteine. Identified by mass spectrometry in melanosome fractions from stage I to stage IV. RAC1: TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Isoform B is predominantly identified in skin and epithelial tissues from the intestinal tract. The expression of isoform B is elevated in colorectal tumors at various stages of neoplastic progression, as compared to their respective adjacent tissues. RAC2: TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Hematopoietic specific. DISEASE: Defects in RAC2 are the cause of neutrophil immunodeficiency syndrome. Spezifität: Appears to be specific for RAC1 and RAC2.

Anwendungen

Applikationshinweise: IHC. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.

Reinheit: whole serum

Lagerung: Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
