Produktbeschreibung
| Weitere Bezeichnung | Hepcidin (HAMP) (mature region) |
| Swiss-Prot | P81172 |
| Immunogen | A synthetic peptide from internal region of human Hepcidin (HAMP) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein has been used as the immunogen. |
| Format | Lyophilized |
| Beschreibung | FUNCTION: Seems to act as a signaling molecule involved in the maintenance of iron homeostasis. Seems to be required in conjunction with HFE to regulate both intestinal iron absorption and iron storage in macrophages. Has strong antimicrobial activity against E.coli ML35P N.cinerea and weaker against S.epidermidis, S.aureus and group b streptococcus bacteria. Active against the fungus C.albicans. No activity against P.aeruginosa. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted. Tissue specificity: Highest expression in liver and to a lesser extent in heart and brain. Low levels in lung, tonsils, salivary gland, trachea, prostate gland, adrenal gland and thyroid gland. Secreted into the urine. Also known as: Hepcidin, Liver-expressed antimicrobial peptide, LEAP-1, Putative liver tumor regressor, HAMP, HEPC, LEAP1. |
| Spezifität | Appears to be specific for Hepcidin. |
Anwendungen
| Applikationshinweise | IHC, WB. Use at a dilution of 1:100 to 1: 2000. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications. |
| Reinheit | whole serum |
| Lagerung | Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles. |
