Immunogen: A synthetic peptide from human contactin-2 (Axonin-1, AXT, TAG1, TAX1, TAX-1) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen.

Beschreibung: The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored neuronal membrane protein that functions as a cell adhesion molecule. It may play a role in the formation of axon connections in the developing nervous system. It may also be involved in glial tumorigenesis and may provide a potential target for therapeutic intervention. FUNCTION: May play a role in the initial growth and guidance of axons. May be involved in cell adhesion. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane; Lipid-anchor, GPI-anchor. Note: Attached to the neuronal membrane by a GPI-anchor and is also released from neurons. Also known as: Axonin-1, Axonal glycoprotein TAG-1, Transient axonal glycoprotein 1, TAX-1, CNTN2, AXT, TAG1, TAX1, MGC157722, DKFZp781D102.

Spezifität: Appears to be specific for contactin-2.

Anwendungen

Applikationshinweise: IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.

Reinheit: whole serum

Lagerung: Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
