Beschreibung: EMAP II (Endothelial-Monocyte-Activating Polypeptide II) is a proinflammatory cytokine and chemoattractant of macrophages and polymorphonuclear lymphocytes. EMAP II is synthesized as a 34 kDa precursor molecule which is cleaved to a biologically active 22 kDa mature polypeptide. This active protein is known to induce the procoagulant protein tissue factor on the surface of endothelial cells and modulate other properties of endothelial cells and monocytes in vitro, including the stimulation of TNF-alpha and myeloperoxidase. EMAP II activates neutrophils in vivo and induces an inflammatory reaction and tumor regression. EMAP II induces apoptosis in proliferating endothelial cells and inhibits neovascularization. This anti-angiogenic property is of interest to tumor biology. EMAP II is also a negative modulator of lung vascular growth.

Spezifität: Recognizes EMAP II (34 and 22 kDa) in human and mouse samples. Not tested in other species. Detects both native and recombinant EMAP II. Positive Control: mouse L929 and RAW 246.7 (macrophage) cells, human Jurkat (lymphocyte), or U937 and THP-1 (monocyte) cells.

Anwendungen

Applikationshinweise: The antibody can be used for Western blot analysis (0.1-0.5 ug/mL), ELISA (1.0-5.0 ug/mL as a coating antibody), or immunohistochemistry (0.5-1.0 ug/mL). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually.

Buffer: Supplied as 100 ug (0.5 mg/ml) rabbit polyclonal immunoglobulin in phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.2, and 0.1% sodium azide. PREPARATION: Purified from rabbit serum by epitope-specific chromatography.
