Beschreibung: The CD44 gene, which is a transmembrane protein, is expressed as a family of molecular isoforms generated from alternative RNA splicing and posttranslational modifications. The gene, which contains 19 exons spanning some 50 kb of genomic DNA, is a widely expressed integral membrane protein that acts as a receptor for hyaluronan (HA) and is important to cell-extracellular matrix interaction. CD44 binding with HA can play an important role in cellular aggregation and tumor cell growth. CD44 is necessary for limb development and functions in a novel growth factor presentation mechanism. A specific CD44 splice variant is crucial for the proliferation of these mesenchymal cells. CD44 glycoproteins are involved in leukocyte extravasation but also in the regulation of growth factor activation, stability, and signaling. Moreover, it plays a pivotal role in arteriogenesis.

Spezifität: Human, mouse, rat. No cross reactivity with other proteins.

Anwendungen

Applikationshinweise: Western blotting: At 1-2u/ml with the appropriate system to detect CD44 in cells and tissues. Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin-embedded Sections): At 0.5-1u/ml to detect CD44 in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded tissues. Immunocytochemistry At 0.5-1u/ml to detect CD44 in acetone fixed cell. Antigen retrieval by Pepsin and Trypsin is required. Other applications have not been tested. Optimal dilutions should be determined by end user.

Reinheit: Immunogen affinity purified.

Buffer: Each vial contains 5mg BSA, 0.9mg NaCl, 0.2mg Na 2 HPO 4 , 0.05mg Thimerosal, 0.05mg NaN 3 .

Lagerung: At -20°C for one year. After reconstitution, at 4°C for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20°C for longer time. Reconstitution: 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml.
