Clone 8B-5E shows stereo-specificity to CRP 3D-molecular structure and does bind to CRP only in the presence of calcium ion, (which is well-known essential cathion for CRP binding to phospholipids, too). The clone is not able to react with neither of denatured forms, caused by protein denaturants such as SDS and Urea experimentally or proteolytic fragments of CRP. No cross-reactivity of human serum protein except for CRP is detected by agarose immunoelectrophoresis. Affinity to CRP: Kd = 2.0 x 10-9
