Beschreibung
Opioid receptors are the members of seven transmembrane G-protein coupled receptors. At least 3 types of opioidreceptors, u, kappa, and delta, have been identified. Human delta-opioid receptor, know as OPRD, DOR, or hDOR, is primarilyexpressed in brain, especially in the areas of cortex, including olfactory bulb, hippocampus, and amygdale, as well asin basal ganglia and hypothalamus. Human OPRD gene has been mapped at chromosome 1p34.3-p36.1. Theendogenous ligands for the OPRD are enkephalins. The third extracellular loop of the OPRD is critical for ligandbinding. The ligands binding and signal transduction functions of delta-receptor can be synergized by formingheterodimers with kappa-receptor. Activation of opioid receptor inhibits cAMP production, increases phosphodiesteraseactivity, and results in analgesia and convulsions. Recent studies have indicated that OPRD is involved in themechanism of heroin dependence.

Applikationshinweise
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescentstaining with flow cytometric analysis. For immunofluorescent staining, thesuggested use of this reagent is approx. 1.0 ug per 106 cells in 100 ul volume or100 ul of whole blood. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated foroptimal performance for each application.
