Beschreibung The distinct peripheral cytosolic proteins, alpha, beta and gamma catenin (102, 94 and86 kDa) are found in many tissues bind to the conserved cytoplasmic tail domain of thecell adhesion cadherins. Catenins link E cadherin to other integral membrane orcytoplasmic proteins and are modulated by Wnt1 proto oncogene. The central coreregion of beta catenin is involved in mediation of cadherin catenin complex interactionwith EGFR. Beta-Catenin-mediated signalling is involved at several stages of vertebrateneural development. Alternate Names: anti-Beta catenin antibody, anti-Cadherin associated protein antibody, anti-Catenin beta1 antibody, anti-CATNB antibody, anti-CTNNB antibody, anti-CTNNB1 antibody.
Spezifität Recognizes beta-catenin in immunoblotting (94kD). Does not recognize plakoglobin. Species Reactivity: Cross-reacts with Cow, Dog and Human.Not yet tested in other species. Localization: Cytoplasmic when it is unstabilized (high level of phosphorylation) or bound to CDH1.Translocates to the nucleus when it is stabilized (low level of phosphorylation).
