| Beschreibung | Cytokeratins (CK) are intermediate filaments of epithelial cells, both in keratinising tissue(ie., skin) and non keratinising cells (ie., mesothelial cells). Although not a traditionalmarker for endothelial cells, cytokeratins have also been found in some microvascularendothelial cells. At least 20 different cytokeratins (CK) in the molecular range of 40 to70 kDa and isoelectric points of 5 to 8.5 can be identified using two dimensional gelelectrophoresis. Biochemically, most members of the CK family fall into one of twoclasses, type I (acidic polypeptides) and type II (basic polypeptides). At least onemember of the acidic family and one member of the basic family is expressed in allepithelial cells. Defects in KRT5 are a cause of epidermolysis bullosa simplex. Alternate Names: anti-58 kDa cytokeratin antibody, anti-CK 5 antibody, anti-CK5 antibody,anti-Cytokeratin5 antibody, anti-DDD antibody, anti-EBS 2 antibody, anti-EBS2antibody, anti-K5 antibody, anti-Keratin 5 (epidermolysis bullosa simplexDowling-Meara/Kobner/Weber-Cockayne types) antibody, anti-Keratin 5 antibody,anti-Keratin Type II Cytoskeletal 5 antibody, anti-Keratin5 antibody, anti-KRT 5 antibody,anti-KRT 5A antibody, anti-KRT5 antibody, anti-KRT5A antibody. |
