The biological function of avidin is not known. It is a homotetrameric glycoprotein foundin chicken egg white, and forms a strong non covalent specific complex with biotin (onemolecule of biotin per subunit of avidin). Alternate Names: anti-AVD antibody, anti-LOC396260 antibody.

No cross-reaction with human and animal serum proteins and streptavidin. Thisantibody binds with high efficiency to different epitopes of avidin molecule. This antibodyreacts with avidin without interfering with its biotin-binding activity.
