Beschreibung KIR2DL3 is a member of the killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) family. TheKIR family consists of transmembrane glycoproteins of the Ig superfamily expressed onhuman NK cells and a subset of human T cells. They are involved in recognition ofeither MHC class I molecules or unknown ligand on target cells and inhibit cytotoxicactivities. This antibody recognizes the human CD158b cell surface antigen, a 58kDaglycoprotein expressed by a subset of NK cells (also known as p58.2 antigen). It alsorecognizes a 50kDa molecule, which is highly homologous to p58.2 in the extracellulardomain, but has a shorter cytoplasmic tail. Both molecules are members of the naturalkiller cell receptor family. CD158b functions as a receptor specific for HLA Class Imolecules, including Cw3 and related HLA-C alleles. This antibody can restore the lysisby human NK clones of otherwise lysis-protected targets expressing Cw3.
