| Beschreibung | Junctional Adhesion Molecule 1 (JAM1) seems to plays a role in epithelial tight junctionformation. It appears early in primordial forms of cell junctions and recruits PARD3. Theassociation of the PARD6-PARD3 complex may prevent the interaction of PARD3 withJAM1, thereby preventing tight junction assembly. JAM1 plays a role in regulatingmonocyte transmigration involved in integrity of the epithelial barrier. JAM1 is alsoinvolved in platelet activation. | Spezifität | ABIN256233 recognises murine CD321, which is also known as junctional adhesionmolecule 1 (JAM-1). CD321 is a 32-41kD glycoprotein, which shares similarities withrelated proteins JAM-2 and JAM-3.CD321 is a multifunctional protein that is primarily expressed by platelets, endothelialand epithelial cells. The CD321 protein co-localises with tight junction molecules in bothepithelial and endothelial cells and plays an important role in the regulation of junctionalintegrity and permeability. In addition, CD321 is a ligand for the integrin LFA-1 and isalso involved in the transmigration of leucocytes. Species Reactivity: Mouse. Not yet tested in other species. Localization: Type I membrane protein. |
