Beschreibung
|
A type of white blood cell derived from the thymus. T cells are of key importance to theimmune system and are at the core of adaptive immunity, the system that tailors thebody',s immune response to specific pathogens. T cells do not produce antibodiesbut do produce a number of substances that regulate the immune response. There aretwo main subtypes: the CD4+ helper T cells and the CD8+ cytotoxic or suppressor Tcells. This antibody immunoprecipitates a 67kDa protein from thymocytes.

Spezifität
|
This antibody is pan reactive with guinea pig T lymphocytes (>95%) in lymph nodes,and does not react with B lymphocytes. It reacts with approximately 70% of thymocytesby FACS analysis and immunohistochemically the medullary thymocytes stronglyexpress this antigen (1). The functional significance of this antigen is currently unknown. Species Reactivity: Reacts with Guinea Pig.
