Beschreibung
|
Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic that was derived from the bacterium Streptomycesvenezuelae and is now produced synthetically. Chloramphenicol is effective against awide variety of microorganisms, but due to serious side effects (eg damage to the bonemarrow) in humans, it is usually reserved for the treatment of serious and lifethreatening infections (eg typhoid fever). It is also used in eye drops or ointment to treatbacterial conjunctivitis. Alternate Names: anti-Cat antibody, anti-CAT II antibody, anti-CatB antibody, anti-CatD antibody,anti-Chloramphenicol acetyltransferase 2 antibody, anti-Chloramphenicolacetyltransferase II antibody, anti-cmlA antibody.
