Beschreibung: This product is one of a range of investigative grade antibodies, made against targetsthat have limited or no commercial antibodies available to them and for which there areno data on the expression of the protein in the range of common cell lines and tissuesavailable to us. These antibodies are affinity purified using their peptide immunogen andare known to give low background staining in a western blot. However no additionalclaims are made for their ability to recognise native protein in any application. This geneencodes N-acetyltransferase 2 (arylamine N-acetyltransferase 2). This enzymefunctions to both activate and deactivate arylamine and hydrazine drugs andcarcinogens. Polymorphisms in this gene are reponsible for the N-acetylationpolymorphism in which human populations segregate into rapid,intermediate, and slowacetylator phenotypes. Polymorphisms in NAT2 are also associated with higherincidences of cancer and drug toxicity. A second arylamine N-acetyltransferase gene(NAT1) is located near NAT2.
