Beschreibung: TZFP is a novel human PLZF-related transcription factor which is predominantlyexpressed in testis. The human TZFP contains a conserved N-terminal BTB(bric-a-brac, tramtrack, broad complex) or POZ (poxvirus, zinc finger) domain and threeC-terminal PLZF-like C2H2 zinc fingers. A computer search of the protein data baserevealed that the zinc finger domain of TZFP is more closely related to thepromyelocytic leukemia zinc finger (PLZF) protein, which was previously reported to bea DNA-binding transcriptional repressor. The biological function and the target genesregulated by TZFP remain largely unknown.
