Beschreibung: Parathyroid hormone is secreted by parathyroid cells. This hormone elevates blood Ca2+levels by dissolving the salts in bone and preventing their renal excretion. Defects in thisgene are a cause of familial isolated hypoparathyroidism (FIH). Most PTH is secreted in itsintact, mature 9. 5 kDa form, amino acids 1-84, however, it can also be secreted asN-terminal truncated fragments or C-terminal fragments after intracellular degradation, asin case of hypercalcemia. No PTH fragment has been found to be the result of another geneor alternative splicing of the PTH gene.

Spezifität: This antibody detects PTH (aa 15-25, 1-34, 1-38, 1-84, 7-84). There were no Cross reactivity obtained with synthetic human peptide (aa 1-10). Species: Human. Others not tested. Add. Information: LocusID 5741
