Beschreibung Ki-67 antigen is a nuclear antigen specifically associated with cell proliferation. Ki-67 isexpressed in all proliferating cells which are in the active phases of the cell cycle (lateG1, S, G2, and mitosis), but absent in resting cells. In G1, it is predominately localized inthe perinucleolar region and also found in nuclear matrix in the later phases (1). Ki-67 isthought to be involved in the maintaining of cell proliferation, however, its exactmechanism for function is unknown. Due to the fact that Ki-67 can be used to determinethe growth fraction (the proportion of the cells committed to the cell cycle), it is consideran important marker in human tumor diagnostics and prognostics (2). Alternate Names: anti-Antigen identified by monoclonal antibody, anti-Ki 67 antibody, anti-Antigen KI67antibody, anti-KIA antibody, anti-MKI67 antibody, anti-Proliferation related Ki 67 antigenantibody.
Spezifität A synthetic peptide from C-terminus of human Ki-67. Species Reactivity: Reacts in human, mouse, and rat. Not tested in other species.
