Beschreibung
|
Calponin is a smooth muscle specific, actin-, tropomyosin- and calmodulin-bindingprotein thought to be involved in regulation of actomyosin as well as the regulation ormodulation of contraction (1). Calponin binds filamentous actin (F-actin) through twodistinct sites ABS1 and ABS2, with an affinity in the low micromolar range (2)Immunoreactivity for calponin, along with alpha-smooth muscle actin and smoothmuscle myosin heavy chains, confirms the known neoplastic myoepithelial componentof adenoid cystic carcinomas and epithelial-myoepithelial carcinomas. The consistentlypositive staining pattern in adenoid cystic carcinomas may be diagnostically useful indiscriminating histologically similar but consistently negative polymorphous low-gradeadenocarcinomas (3). Alternate Names: anti-Basic calponin antibody, anti-CNN 1 antibody, anti-CNN1 antibody, anti-Calponin 1antibody, anti-Calponin 1 basic smooth muscle antibody, anti-Calponin H1 smoothmuscle antibody, anti-Calponin1 antibody, anti-Calponins basic antibody, anti-SMCCantibody, anti-Sm Calp antibody.
