Beschreibung: Please note, this product is one of a range of Investigative Grade antibodies, madeagainst targets that have limited or no commercial antibodies available to them and forwhich there are no data on the expression of the protein in the range of common celllines and tissues available to us. These antibodies are affinity purified using theirpeptide immunogen and are known to give low background staining in a western blot.However no additional claims are made for their ability to recognise native protein in anyapplication.This gene encodes a member of the WAP-type four disulfide core domain family. TheWAP-type four-disulfide core domain, or WAP signature motif, contains eight cysteinesforming four disulfide bonds at the core of the protein, and functions as a proteaseinhibitor in many family members. The encoded protein shares 81% amino acid identitywith the rat ps20 protein, which was originally identified as a secreted growth inhibitor.This gene is mapped to chromosome 16q24, an area of frequent loss of heterozygosityin cancers, including prostate, breast and hepatocellular cancers and Wilms',tumor. Owing to its location and a possible growth inhibitory property of its gene product,this gene is suggested to be a tumor suppressor gene. Anwendungen

Applikationshinweise: Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:32,000. Western Blot: preliminary experiments gave an approx 75kDa band in Human Liver, Placenta and Prostate lysatesafter 0.03ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find anexplanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of23.9kDa according to NP_067020.2. The 75kDa band was successfully blocked byincubation with the immunizing peptide. We would appreciate any feedback from peoplein the field - have any results been reported with other antibodies/lysates? Have anyfurther splice variants/modified forms been reported?
