Beschreibung: Cytochrome c is an electron transporting protein that resides within the intermembranespace of the mitochondria, where it plays a critical role in the process of oxidativephosphorylation and production of cellular ATP. An increasing amount of interest has beendirected toward the role which cytocrome c has been demonstrated to play in apoptoticprocesses. Following exposure to apoptotic stimuli, cytochrome c is rapidly released fromthe mitochondria into the cytosol, an event which may be required for the completion ofapoptosis in some systems. Cytosolic cytochrome c functions in the activation ofcaspase-3, and ICE family molecule that is a key effector of apoptosis.

Anwendungen

Applikationshinweise: Western Blotting (2). Immunohistology (Formalin/paraffin): 1-2 ug/ml for 30 min at RT, staining of formalin-fixedtissues REQUIRES boiling tissue sections in 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 minfollowed by cooling at RT for 20 min. Positive Control: HeLa cells. Cardiac muscle. Does not work in Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Buffer: 10 mM PBS, pH 7.4, with 0.2 % BSA and 0.09 % sodium azide

Lagerung: Store the antibody at 2 - 8 °C up to one month or in aliquots at -20 °C for longer. Avoidrepeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
