Beschreibung
CNPase (2,3-Cyclic Nucleotide 3-Phosphodiesterase) exists in two forms: 46kDa (CNP1) and48kDa (CNP2). It is expressed at high levels by oligodendrocytes in the central nervoussystem and by Schwann cells in the peripheral nervous system and is virtually absent inother cell types. CNPase activity is decreased in demyelinating diseases such as multiplesclerosis. CNPase gene is localized to chromosome 17q21, very near the BRCA1 familialbreast cancer gene.

Spezifität
This antibody is useful for early specific identification of oligodendrocytes and Schwanncells. Cellular Localization: Cell Membrane. Mol. Wt. of Antigen: 46kD (CNP1) and 48kD(CNP2). Species: Human, Monkey, Cow, Sheep, Goat, Pig, Cat, Dog, Rabbit, Rat, and Mouse. Doesnot react with Guinea Pig and Chicken. Others not tested.

Applikationshinweise
Immunofluorescence. Western Blotting. Immunohistochemistry on frozen and paraffin embedded sections: Ab 2-4 ug/ml for 30min at RT. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues REQUIRES boiling tissue sections in 10mMcitrate buffer, pH 6.0. Recommended positive control: brain. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
