Beschreibung: The two major cytoskeletal proteins implicated in cell motility are actin and myosin. Actinand myosin are constituents of many cell types and are involved in a myriad of cellularprocesses including locomotion, secretion, cytoplasmic streaming, phagocytosis andcytokinesis. Although actin is one of the most conserved eukaryotic proteins, it isexpressed in mammals and birds as at least six isoforms characterized byelectrophoresis and amino acid sequence analysis. Four of them represent thedifferentiation markers of muscle tissues and two are found in practically all cells. Spezifität: This antibody reacts with all six known vertebrate isoforms of actin (MW 42kDa). It alsoreacts with two cytoplasmic actins (beta, lambda) which are highly homologous to oneanother but which differ from the muscle actins at about 25 amino acid residues. Thisantibody is highly recommended for monitoring total protien load on Western blots. Species Reactivity: Cross-reacts with Human, Chicken, Cow, Dog, Mouse, Pig, Rabbit, Rat, Dictyosteliumdiscoideum and Physarum polycephalum. Not yet tested in other species. Localization: Cytoplasmic.
