| Beschreibung | Glyceraldehyde 3 phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) is well known as one of the keyenzymes involved in glycolysis. Besides its functioning as a glycolytic enzyme incytoplasm, recent evidence suggests that mammalian GAPDH is also involved in agreat number of intracellular proceses such as membrane fusion, microtubule bundling, phosphotransferase activity, nuclear RNA export, DNA replication, and DNA repair.Recently data has implicated GAPDH in different pathologies including prostate cancerprogression, programmed neuronal cell death, age-related neuronal diseases, such asAlzheimer',s and Huntington',s disease. Some physiological factors, such ashypoxia and diabetes, increase GAPDH expression in certain cell types. Alternate Names: anti-GAPDH antibody, anti-glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase antibody,anti-HGNC:4141 antibody, anti-G3PD antibody, anti-GAPD antibody, anti-MGC88685antibody. |
| Spezifität | GAPDH is a 146 kDa tetramer composed of four 30-40 kDa subunits. There is nocross-reaction with GAPDH from yeast. Species Reactivity: Cross-reacts with Human, Chicken, Dog, Fish, Mouse, Rabbit, Rat and Xenopus laevis.Does not cross-react with Cow, Goat, or s. Cerevisiae. Not yet tested in other species. Localization: Cytoplasmic. |
