Beschreibung: Prion protein PrP is a membrane glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored glycoprotein that tends to aggregate into rod-like structures. The encoded protein contains a highly unstable region of five tandem octapeptide repeats. This gene is found on chromosome 20, approximately 20 kbp upstream of a gene which encodes a biochemically and structurally similar protein to the one encoded by this gene. Mutations in the repeat region as well as elsewhere in this gene have been associated with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, fatal familial insomnia, Gerstmann-Straussler disease, Huntington disease-like 1, and kuru. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.

Spezifität: ABIN144533 recognises both protease sensitive and protease resistant forms ofPrP (after denaturing).

Anwendungen

Applikationshinweise: ELISA: Use at a dilution of 1/20,000-1/50,000. IHC-P: Use at a dilution of 1/100-1/500. Use at an assay dependent dilution. Retrieve antigens with 70% Formic acid for 10-30 minutes at room temperature or HIER (heat Induced Epitope Retrieval) before commencing with IHC staining protocol. WB: Use at a dilution of 1/10,000-1/25,000. Predicted molecular weight: 32 kDa. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
