Beschreibung
Nerve growth factor (NGF) is one of a family of neurotrophins that induce the survival and proliferation of neurons. In cell culture NGF induces the formation of neurite projections and in vivo may stimulate the innervation of tissues. NGF plays a role in the repair, regeneration, and protection of neurons, and as such could serve as a therapeutic agent in neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimers disease.

Applikationshinweise
ELISA: Use at a concentration of 2 ug/ml. Typically for human NGF, the ELISA has a working range of 0-15 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 15 pg/ml with the appropriate standard. Recommended sample volumes are 25-200 ul. Recovery of human NGF in human plasma is typically > 90% in the ELISA. The use of Tris buffer, pH 7, instead of PBS is recommended. Not tested in other applications. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
