Beschreibung
IRAK-M (Interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase M). Interleukin-1 (IL-1) and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induce cellular response through IL-1 receptor (IL-1R) and Toll like receptors (TLR). Through IL-1/Toll receptors, IL-1 receptor-associated kinase (IRAK and IRAK2) mediates the activation of NF- kappa B (1,2), a pivotal transcription factor mediating inflammatory and immune response. A novel member in the IRAK/Pelle family was recently identified and designated IRAK-M (3). IRAKs associate with IL-1/Toll receptors after IL-1 or LPS stimulation and the dominant negative mutants of IRAKs inhibit IL-1 or LPS induced NF- kappa B activation. Members of the IRAK/Pelle family play a central role in IL-1R/TLR mediated inflammatory responses to cytokine IL-1 and LPS.

Spezifität
This affinity-purified antibody is directed against human IRAK-M protein. The product was purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross reactivity with IRAK-M protein from human, mouse and rat sources based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. No cross reactivity is noted against IRAK-1 or IRAK-2. Reactivity against homologues from other sources is not known.

Applikationshinweise
This affinity-purified antibody has been tested for use in ELISA, immunohistochemistry and western blot. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. Expect a band approximately 68 kDa in size corresponding to IRAK-M protein by western blotting in the appropriate cell lysate or extract.
