Immunogen: Purified recombinant full-length hirudin coupled to carrier protein.

Beschreibung: Hirudin is a highly effective and very specific anticoagulant which specifically inhibitsformation of fibrin and activation of factors V, VIII and XIII by forming irreversible,noncovalent 1: 1 complexes with a-thrombin. Hirudin is a 65 amino acid polypeptide, 7 kDaprotein naturally originating from the medical leech Hirudo medicinalis. It is the mostpotent thrombin inhibitor known to date.

Spezifität: This product can be used as a source of affinity-purified antibodies to Hirudin. No reaction was obtained with human plasma or serum when analyzed byimmunoelectrophoresis.

Anwendungen

Applikationshinweise: Reactivity to hirudin was demonstrated by Immunoelectrophoreses and ELISA. The affinity purified IgG is a potent inhibitor of hirudin anticoagulant activity but not of theanalogues hirugen and hirulog. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Konzentration: 2.0 mg/ml

Buffer: 0.01M HEPES, pH 7.4, containing 0.15 M NaCl and 50% (v/v) Glycerol.No preservatives are added.

Lagerung: Store (in aliquots) in the freezer between -10°C and -20°C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Allow product to warm to room temperature and gently mix before use. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
