IgY(.Fc) to human alpha fetoprotein is developed in duck by using human alpha fetoprotein as immunogen. Affinity purified IgY(. Fc)is purified by alpha fetoprotein coupling chromatography. The product is supplied as a solution in 10mM phosphate buffer, 0.14M sodium chloride, pH 7.2, containing 0.02% NaN 3 as a preservative.

A single arc was shown by Immunoelectrophoresis while the antibody was reacting with part-pure alpha-fetoprotein and normal human serum. Similar specific reactions were observed when the antibody was tested by western blot assay.
