Rabbits were immunized with highly purified human lactoferrin. After multiple immunizations the rabbits were bled and serum collected. The anti-human lactoferrin was solid phase absorbed against human serum to ensure specificity.

The anti-human lactoferrin forms a single precipitin arc against human lactoferrin by immunoelectrophoresis. There is no reaction with normal human serum.
