This antibody is specific to a 70 kD protein, which is a potent cytolytic pore-forming protein. Perforin is a specific marker of functionally active cytotoxic T-lymphocytes and natural killer cells. Perforin mediates cytolysis of target cells by membrane damage and apoptosis.
